RCKH to RCTP (January 3rd, 2009)  Kaosiung, Taiwan to Taipei, Taiwan

Looking forward to seeing some hustle and bustle of Taiwan. Gonna give the 747 another shot.

Lot's of heavy jets, and a JAL is leaving shortly behind me.

JAL 747 just landing.  Takeoff!

Good looking mountain scenery.

Lining up nicely, but a little long touching down.  Welcome to Taipei.

Landing Score:36.96  (Got an autopilot used because at 13,000 feet, I got close to the mountain near Taipei.  Dang it!
Autopilot used.

Landing included the following problems:

  • Poor glideslope on ILS approach - you can do better.
  • Too hard - may have damaged your landing gear.
  • Glideslope lost before you touched down - not your best effort.
  • Poor steering after landing - stay on the centre line.

Definite room for improvement...

Flight Score:107.58
Autopilot used.

RCTP to VHHH (January 4th, 2009)  Taipei, Taiwan to HongKong, HongKong

Frame rates should be horrible for this flight but we'll see what happens.

Landing Score:0.00  (Can you believe it...I get a zero for landing score...but, check out below.)

Landing included the following problems:

  • Poor glideslope on ILS approach - you can do better.
  • Too hard - may have damaged your landing gear.
  • Glideslope lost before you touched down - not your best effort.
  • Not near the centre line - you can do better.
  • Without spoilers armed - arm them before landing.
  • Throttle(s) forward - should be idle.

Flight Score:171.83  (I am now the current record holder for a flight...thank you....thank you fans!)

A smooth flight!

VHHH to ZSCN (January 4th, 2009)  HongKong to Nanchang, China

JoeMini WWT is proud to announce Air China as a proud supplier of jets for the tour.  Check out the paint scheme.  It's the 2008 Beijing China Olympic characters.

Well HongKong is an extremely busy airport, and the frame rates stink but at least I'm taking off.

Cathay Pacific 777 landing. Leaving HongKong cool landscape.

Check out that bridge below.

Could see crap....got way off and as you can tell...one of my more ugly landings....I was all over the place.

Landing Score:0.00

Landing included the following problems:

  • Poor glideslope on ILS approach - you can do better.
  • Poor alignment with runway on ILS approach - line up and stay there.
  • Too hard - may have damaged your landing gear.
  • Glideslope lost before you touched down - not your best effort.
  • Nowhere near the centre line - get lined up and keep it that way.
  • Without spoilers armed - arm them before landing.

Flight Score:140.48

ZSQD to ZBAA (January 10th, 2009)  Oingdao, China to Beijing, China.

Heading to take a look at the Capital city of Beijing.  Little dissapointed with the downtown scenery.  Not much there.  Maybe the airport is way out in the middle of nowhere?

Firing up the Air New Zealander again.

On approach but something went bad and I was way off again.  I stink!

Landing Score:0.00

Landing included the following problems:

  • No glideslope information was available on visual approach.
  • No runway alignment information was available on visual approach.
  • No glideslope - could not compare flare to glideslope.
  • Nowhere near the centre line - get lined up and keep it that way.
  • Touch down not aligned with the runway - let's point down the runway.
  • Poor steering after landing - stay on the centre line.

Flight Score:139.64

ZKPY to RKSS (January 11th, 2009)  Pyongyang, North Korea to Seoul, South Korea

Off to south to Seoul...short flight.

It took me 13 minutes to taxi out to the runway.  I had to taxi to the complete opposite side of the airport for absolutely no traffic.  Thanks ATC!

113 mile flight so it's up and down rather quickly.

Downtown Seoul.

Looking good.  Not bad...pretty much hit the center that time...Oh come on Smitty!

Landing Score:122.65

Landing included the following problems:

  • Too hard - may have damaged your landing gear.

Flight Score:127.65

Flight included the following problems:

  • Exceeding flap speeds - your flaps may be damaged: have them checked.
  • Dangerous taxiing turns - these cause discomfort and stress.
  • Rapid descent - dangerous and uncomfortable.
  • Nose held too low - we're not in combat.

Thanks Joe, you certainly made me laugh.

I'll stick to my cessna for the moment, but you've certainly inspired me to aim higher.

FSFlyingSchool should analyse crash data and fatalities, we could all have our own mortality counts. Extra bonus for every soul we dont kill or injure.

Cheers LaLa

shhh, its therapy.

RKSS to RJOO (January 11th, 2009)  Seoul, South Korea to Osaka, Japan

Off to the Japanese Islands.  First stop Osaka Japan.  Going back to the 747, and decided on the United New Livery.

Pushing back, and waiting on a Korean Airliner to get the heck out of my way.  Another Korean landing on left runway.

Taking off and leaving Seoul.

Closing in on Osaka.  Downtown Osaka in the distance and lining up nicely to runway.

Looking great Smitty.

Yea baby....centerline, all though I was a little long.

Landing Score:139.80     Flight Score:155.61
