Fabulous screenshots Joe. And congrats on the scores !!

I flew from CYVR to CYKA (Vancouver - Kamloops) IFR to practice (BEFORE MR Smith gets back in my plane)

And it was a darn good thing !! ATC dropped me to 6600 ft, and immediately dropped me to 3100 ft with the runway about 10km away.

Well....I was in a nose dive watching the citizens of Kamloops running and screaming in terror, (As were my Passengers)

So, I grabbed my parachute and casually headed for the exit.
One passenger said "Are we having some trouble?"
I said "Nothing major. I'm just going for help"

Maybe next time, I will allow Mr (whats that smell) Smith back in the cockpit. He better be wearing brown pants.

Biggles:

Drop your flight career. Don´t waste another moment in the air. You should spend all your time WRITING. I looooove that piece. I could picture the entire scene. Marvelous writing. Please please fly on (Don´t listen to the crap I started out saying), and comment on those flights. "I´m just going for help"...... Wonderful.

KDTW - CYYZ  (August 10)   Detroit, MI to Toronto, Canada

CNN Headlines Webcast:  JoeMini-WWT and Qantas Airlines are deeply saddened that it has been learned that WWT-Tours Flight #20 has ended in tradegy.  The Qantas B737-800 landed short of the runway while on final approach.  Through the miracle of flight simulator, the courageous pilot managed to survive the crash.  It is not known at this time the total critically injured passengers.  JoeMini WWT issued this statement "We are sadden by our pilot abilities to land our refurbed 737, but rest assured we will be back up in the skies immediately.  Sorry!"

Waiting on Northwest Airlink and a nice shot of the Lake Erie area.

So far so good on approach....but then..."Houston...we have a problem."  FAA are looking into crash evidence.

Flying notes:  Landing Score 0.00   Flying Score: 0.00

CYYZ - KIAG  (August 10)   Toronto, Canada to Niagra Falls, NY

Well, decided to take a smaller plane and enjoy the Downtown Toronto area, and then scoot over to Niagra Falls area.  It's on my list of places to visit in my lifetime.  I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Flying notes:  Landing Score 76.65   Flying Score: 103.78

A splendid landing!

Flight included the following problems:

  • Nose held too low - we're not in combat.
  • Excessive speed at low altitude - several complaints have been filed.

The complaints filed have been thrown out because I was flying under the bridges in Niagra Falls, and the people asked to have a thrill ride...so shut up people.

KSYR - KALB  (August 12)   Syracuse, NY to Albany, NY

Well, it's been raining a lot on the East Coast.  Short flight from Syracuse, NY to Albany, NY.  Gain some confidence again on landing planes.  Also, Delta Connections feeling bad after Qantas incident in Toronto joined JoeMini WWT tours by donating a reburbed CRJ-700 Delta Connections.  It should be pointed out that when JoeMini WWT opened the doors for the first time, water came rushing out?  Not sure what that means, but electrical systems seem good.

Raining cats and dogs, but shortly after takeoff the skies opened up out of Syracuse

Oh great, the last time I landed in bad weather....but the skies opened up nicely and gott'r down.  Whew.

Flying notes:  Landing Score 37.45  Flying Score: 130.28

Landing included the following problems:

  • Poor glideslope on ILS approach - you can do better.
  • Too fast - you had to force the plane to stay down.
  • Glideslope lost before you touched down - not your best effort.
  • Nose down too low - you need to land on your main gear.

Flight included the following problems:

  • Steep banking - save your aerobatic flying for some other time.
  • Poor attention to taxi speed - dangerous to yourself and others.

Another short flight to Windsor Locks.  Not feeling very confident lately.  Must improve!

Pushing back and neat picture of Southwest Airlines landing...

Taking to the skies, and nice shot of area.

KBDL - KPVD  (August 13)   Windsor Locks, CT to Providence, RI

A really, really short fllight.  I'm getting sick of Mr. Smith.  Perhaps if I just fly a good flight he'd get off my back?  Think that's just what I'm gonna do.  Finally, a good score.

Soaring out of Windsor Locks, and nice looking picture of countryside.

Approaching and lining up nicely.  View from flight deck

Not bad, pretty close to centerline for a change.  Taxiing to a full airport for a change.

Flying notes:  Landing Score 107.19   Flying Score: 136.45

Landing included the following problems:

  • Poor glideslope on ILS approach - you can do better.

A smooth flight!

KPVD - KBOS  (August 17)   Providence, RI to Boston, MA

Heading up to Boston to have a drink with my old friends for Cheers in Boston.  Well all good things must come to an end.  Another shitty landing by yours truly, but the pictures are good.

Loading up on the ramp...nice looking plane.  Approaching the Boston Area.

Final approach...wish I knew what the factory did?  Another shot of the downtown Boston area on final.
Lined up good, but the S.O.B. Mr. Smith didn't like something again.  Let's go to the tape.

Flying notes:  Landing Score 28.35   Flying Score: 127.55

Landing included the following problems:

  • Poor glideslope on ILS approach - you can do better.
  • Glideslope lost before you touched down - not your best effort.
  • Not near the centre line - you can do better.
  • Poor steering after landing - stay on the centre line.

Flight included the following problems:

  • Late rotation - when Vr is reached - take off.
  • Narrowly missed tail strike - watch your pitch: this could have been bad.

Who care's about a tail strike...sheez!

KBOS - KBTV (August 19)   Boston, MA to Burlington, VT

Nice flight in the northern mountains.  Got a little concerned with FSX ATC control tower and I believe we was Mountain top touching.  Sheez.

Leaving Boston behind.  Nice mountains and clouds.

Suppose ATC will run me into a mountain?  This is getting close.  Airport is just off to left.  Maybe will turn soon?

Landing included the following problems:

  • Too fast - you had to force the plane to stay down.
  • Without spoilers armed - arm them before landing.

Flight included the following problems:

  • Late rotation - when Vr is reached - take off.
  • Nose held too low - we're not in combat.
