Scene: Heathrow International - Joe Mini steps up to podium.

Ladies and Gentlemen.  Welcome to Part II of my journey.  I would like to thank the Queen of England for all of her hospitality.  As a gesture of all her and your countries great hospitality, I'm going to take her on a complimentary tour over the city of London, and on over to London City.  We will fly with fighter escort service.  We have over 100 planned landings for this tour.  Hope we make it in time!

I refuse to change my scenery and I'll take my bad luck with extremely crappy FPS rates, so my flights will prolly be piss poor.  I will not jeopardize the amusement of the audience for good handling plane.

EGLL to EGLC  (October 11th, 2008)  London to London City, England

Come on old lady...times a wasting.  Get your butt in the plane Queen!  Wait your turn Iberia!

Banking back to London City...Heading east as we pass by Heathrow.  Closing in on City life

Flying over all those famous buildings downtown.  Wish I knew what that building/arena is that looks like its has toothpicks coming out of it?

Barely having 4-5FPS...Can't control plane...should be a crappy score.  Some new AI traffic.

Landing Score:56.00
Landing included the following problems:

  • Poor glideslope on ILS approach - you can do better.
  • Too hard - may have damaged your landing gear.
  • Throttle(s) forward - should be idle.
  • Poor steering after landing - stay on the centre line.

Flight Score:95.74
Flight included the following problems:

  • Exceeding flap speeds - your flaps may be damaged: have them checked.
  • Poor steering during takeoff - stay in the centre of the runway.
  • Rapid descent - dangerous and uncomfortable.
  • Nose held too high - spilt drinks and worried expressions.  (Queen spilled her beer to calm nerves)

EGLC to LFPG  (October 11th, 2008)  London City, England to Paris, France

Gonna leave the UK, and head for France, and check out the French Countryside.  Change gears and have some French Cruisine.

Bunch of Turbo props, yet I elect some power with my plane!  Check out the water around the runway?  Ist this the way it is there?  Incoming commuter plane.

Thread this plane right through those Buildings...Cool!  What is this place?  Soccer stadium? Leaving England and France off in the distance.

Western coast of France and an inlet of France.

Way to high on approach!  Should be another shitty landing.  Busy, Busy Paris Airport!

Landing Score:33.00
Landing included the following problems:

  • Poor glideslope on ILS approach - you can do better.
  • Too hard - may have damaged your landing gear.
  • Glideslope lost before you touched down - not your best effort.
  • Not near the centre line - you can do better.

Flight Score:125.59
Flight included the following problems:

  • Late rotation - when Vr is reached - take off.
  • Narrowly missed tail strike - watch your pitch: this could have been bad.
  • Nose held too low - we're not in combat.

LFPG to LFLY  (October 11th, 2008)  Paris, France to Lyon, France.

When I was growing up, Andre the Giant I believe was from Lyon, so I decided to go to his Hall of Fame museum to check out his collection of wrestling shoes.  Really pretty scenery as Lyon is up against the French Alps area.  A lot of pictures on the ground at Paris, but haven't had airport scenery like this so I couldn't pass it up...

An Iberia airliner, and as expected, a bunch of Air France planes.  A Jumbo A340 pushing back.  Lot's of hotels on this side of airport.

Air France operations building.  Bunch of hotels and neat looking buildings.

Iberia and an African plane waiting on me.  We keep popping the coffee maker circuit breaker.  I'm not happy!

Flying over the french land.  Cool looking mountains and terrain.  Lining up nicely.

All things look good!  Spoiler up...whoa baby...and as usual, not much of a crowd to greet me.

Landing Score:114.80
Landing included the following problems:

  • Not near the centre line - you can do better.

Flight Score:145.83

A smooth flight!

LFLY to LFMN  (October 12th, 2008)  Lyon, France to Cote D'Azur, France

A a great time at the Andre the Giant Museum.  Sniffed quite a bit of his wrestling shoes.  Felt like I was a wrestler.  But it's off to the South of France for the Cannes Film festival where I'll be a guest film critic.  Hob knob with the who's who of actors.  I plan on getting smashed and making a spectical of myself.

Early morning departure, sun coming up, what a great day to fly.  Meandering through houses and trees.

Lift off, banking south, and headed for South of France.  Cool looking lake off the wing tip.

Passing the french alps, and over them.  Really cool coming in over the mountains and next to the ocean.

Banking west to land at the airport below, only problem is there's a problem with the ILS for this airport, which netted me a terrific "zero" landing score.  4R is completely wrong.

Landing Score:0.00
Landing included the following problems:

  • Poor glideslope on ILS approach - you can do better.
  • Poor alignment with runway on ILS approach - line up and stay there.
  • Too hard - may have damaged your landing gear.
  • Glideslope lost before you touched down - not your best effort.
  • Nowhere near the centre line - get lined up and keep it that way.
  • Without spoilers armed - arm them before landing.
  • Poor steering after landing - stay on the centre line.

Definite room for improvement...

Flight Score:137.81  (Well thank goodness for a good flight score)

Flight included the following problems:

  • Rapid descent - dangerous and uncomfortable.
  • Poorly trimmed aircraft - trimmers are there to help: use them.

LFMN to LFML  (October 12th, 2008)  Cote D'Azur, France to Marseille, France

It's been bugging me for a few years now.  In the movie starring Matt Damon, "The Bourne Identity", Matt Damon knew he was in Marseille.  So I decided to take Matt up on a personal flight and figure out what he can't remember.  I'm pleased to announce, I also don't remember jack squat about Marseille either.  So we instead hoisted a beer in honor of flying.  I wish I could have helped him.

Long taxi out to runway from general aviation parking.  Check out that backdrop for this city. Liftoff.

Water, mountains, shore line....passing past airport I'll be turning back towards.

Little low....but as usual...crappy score.

Landing Score:49.60

Landing included the following problems:
  • Not near the centre line - you can do better.
  • Throttle(s) forward - should be idle.
  • Poor steering after landing - stay on the centre line.

Flight Score:107.10

Flight included the following problems:

  • Narrowly missed obstacles - plan your safety altitudes.  (I'm going to have to disagree with Mr. Smith)

LFML to LFBO  (October 12th, 2008)  Marseille, France to Toulouse, France

Ok...off to Toulouse to see the new Quadruple decker airplane by Airbus...It's so top secret that only a select few can see it.  Let's see if we can find it on the tarmac?

Leaving Marseille...Passing a cool looking Gulfstream Jet, and boat came flying up trying to load a last minute passenger.

Anybody ever seen a runway supported by water?  This is what we call a water suspension runway.  Well everything looks good, but I'm sure I'll mess something up.

Landing Score:48.64  (I don't get this score....sheez Mr. Smith....Kinda rough on me?)

Landing included the following problems:

  • Not near the centre line - you can do better.

Flight Score:145.73

A smooth flight!

Well going to head to a few cities on the western coast of Portugal, take in some touristy stuff, and park my butt on the beach.  Took a twilight flight and the sunset was awesome!

Well you know you are going to see quite a few Iberia planes...Neat looking Terminal picture.

Iberia plane landing, and not sure what that blue hanger are, but thought it was a neat picture.

Sunsets to the west, and the moon following me from the East.

Ok...got a little hung up with the sunsets, but couldn't resist.  Oh yea, fog again.  Hold on ladies and gents....

Barely see the PAPI approach lights....not bad a little off, but I'll take it again.

LPPR to LPPT (October 13th) Porto, Portugal to Lisbon, Portugal

Flew a short flight south to the Capital city of Lisbon.

TAP - Portugal national airliner.  A lil' "TNT"....dynomite!  Looking back at Porto.

Flying basically down the coast of Portugal.  Flying south of the peninsula, then east, then up the gulf.

Getting ready to make final.  Pretty cool downtown area, with cruise ships in the background.

Looks like a minature Golden Gate bridge.

Landing Score:37.85  (Accidently hit the "Z" button, didn't realize it until it was too late.  Pisser!)
Autopilot used.

Landing included the following problems:

  • Not near the centre line - you can do better.
