Why do I keep getting this run time error when I try to load a flight plan?  Thanks.

Hi there - this function of the program works great for most folks - let's see if we can figure out what's up.

1. Are you using a 3rd party tool to create or modify flight plans?

2. Which version of FS are you using?

3. Please send us a flight plan which is causing this problem - you can send it to the forum or just email it to support@fsflyingschool.com

4. Does this occur with all flight plans or just some?

5. Are you using all US English settings on your PC or are some of them different?

Thank you for the quick reply.

1. I am using the flight planner that comes with FSX.

2. I am using FSX SP2

3. I will email the flight plan to the address you gave me.

4.  I have only tried it on I believe 3 different flight plans.

5. I am using only English settings on my PC.

Hi again - thanks for the answers and for their total clarity - this is much appreciated.

We have your plans - they look fine and they do not cause errors on the PCs we have tested them on here. We must dig deeper...

1. You mentioned in email that you upgraded. Was this from FSFS Classic or FSFS2009 - I just want to be sure.

2. Did your flight plans work with the earlier version of FSFS?

3. Have you "generated FSFS2010 runway data"?

4. Please paste the contents of the file: Settings.ini    (located in your main FSFlyingSchool folder) into your reply to this post.
This is usually located in a folder at something like:
C:\Program Files\FSFlyingSchool

5. Where are flight plans for FS stored on your system?

6. What is the path to FS on your system?

7. It is important to run all programs (FS and FSFS) as an administrator - is this being done?

8. It is important to install and run all programs (FS and FSUIPC and FSFS) as the same user - is this being done?

Thanks for all the information.

1. You are running the demo of FSFS2010?

2. Please email to support@fsflyingschool.com the file

"FSFSRWYS.TXT"

which will be in your FSX folder.

It should be about 3.5 megabytes.

The file may appear on your PC as "FSFSRWYS    text document"  if you have "showing extensions of known file types" turned off in Windows explorer.

I emailed you the "FSFSRWYS.TXT" file you requested on December 24th, I am still waiting for your findings, have you come up with anything yet, thank you.

OK, I installed the file you emailed me and it appears I am able to use the program.  I loaded a flight plan and tried one flight and it seems to be working alright. Unfortunately I have not been able to spend too much time on the program lately but plan to give it more effort when I have the time.  I want to spend some more time trying different things with it but at this point I think it is working.  I will let you know if I run into any more problems and thank you very much for the help.
