hi,

my sysyem has vista home premium, 1 .86 duel core cpu, 4 gb memory, nvidia 9800 gt graphics card. the frame rates before were not as steady maybe 50 and sometimes go below that. i was going to get a faster c p u but a dont think i will bother. also when i installed f s scene world that also helped. f s 9 was always around 70 fps but now fsx seemes to be the same.

Whoa Joseph - that is very interesting information.

And FScene led to better FPS too? Cool!

70 FPS in FSX??? I thought only NASA has that sort of performance...

Erm - what have you got your sliders set at (graphics detail, clouds, traffic, scenery, etc) ?

It would be interesting to know - but of course the important point is that however you have your FSX configured, the performance showed a dramatic imporvement.

Hi Joseph and others,

For two weeks ago I reinstalled my computer and decided to switch from FS9 to FSX.
After this I'm struggling with the framerates.
If I have all graphics setting on Low or Medium it's around 20-25 fps, but than the scenery isn't very nice to see.
In the meantime I've read many forums and posts about tweaking FSX to get better framerates, but not a lot of success so far. Sometimes the fps is very fluctuating, from about 20 fps it decreases sometime to 2-5 fps. I have no idea what's happening than.

Another thing I noticed is that the Abacus EZ-GPSv4 eats very much framerates too! Any other one has this experience or a solution for this?

So I'm very interested in settings/tweaks other people have for a reasonable framerate in FSX. My configuration is shown in my signature.

Kindly regards,

Jacob.

Jacob.
