All interest pilots:

Please read the Caribbean Tour 100 Rules and Guidelines and make sure you understand the tour.  Once completed, please choose 1 or 2 airplanes from the FSFS hanger and report which planes you'll be using for the competition.

Yes Joe, I think he meant the great template you made for the Hawaiian tour to post scores and comments in...

A/C Problems

Hi JoeMini

Arrived at the hangar nice and early only to find a big puddle of oil beneath my SF260. On investigation it appears that the engine is in need of a major overhaul.

Rang Henrietta, who was to be my intructor for the trip, and she studied the performance figures for the         ACA Scout (detailed below). She reckons that as the longest leg is only  169 miles, we can do the whole Carribean 100 in the Scout --- provided we don't have too many strong headwinds.

So here the deal I am formally requesting permission to change my aircraft type to the ACA Scout as used on the Hawaiien Tour.

Performance

Cruise speed / endurance w 45 min reserve @ 75% power     113 kts TAS / 2.7 Hrs

Fuel consumption @ altitude                                              10.3 gph at 5000ft

Cruise speed / endurance w 45 min reserve @ 55% power      97Kt TAS / 3.8 Hr

Fuel consumption @ altitude                                               7.7 gph at 5000ft

Sorry about the last minute change   and hope it meets with your approval

Biggles
