Ole,

I sent my airport list to you via e-mail this morning and a request.  I'm already adding my potential extra destinations to our mandatory lists.

I'm going out of town this weekend, so I'll catch up with you all Sunday night or Monday morning.  Looks like it's all coming together.  Hopefully we'll start seeing some more forum people out there interested?

I've been working on my landings with the Beech Baron and KingAir 350.  I don't like the views you get in the Kingair350 in cockpit mode.  Can't see out of window as good with Baron, but the speed factor of Kingair350 will obviously be better.  And I'm going to figure out a heavy plane to use for longer trips.

And once again, thanks SL for helping out!

I guess next on our agenda is to start thinking about guidelines and such.

Hi Joe.

I´ve finished all the airports and I´ve made maps of it all, except Asia, and that´s for Saturday. Now its 03.00 and I´m wasted.

I will put it all up there Saturday. I´ve had to put in a couple extra airports in some of your areas, as the distances became to big. Please forgive this and see the result.

See your email for details.

Nighty nighty

Ole

Are the charts at www.fscharts.com of any value to determine ILS/ non-ILS ?

For Canada ALL the charts are in PDF format at

http://www.navcanada.ca/ContentDefinitionFiles/Publications/AeronauticalInfoProducts/CanadianAirportCharts/CanadianAirportCharts_current.pdf

But you better go for coffee while they load (53 megs)

Now just where did you guys park my Sopwith Camel ?

Biggles:

I leave the charts questions to the organisers - Ole and Joe...

So anyway - about that Sopwith Camel...

... sounds good or of course you could use the Vickers Vimy supplied with FS2004, as used by Alcock and Brown in the first transatlantic flight!

(You'd have to find a way to update it to FSX - if that is even possible...)

The cruise speed is a bit tricky for a round world trip I guess...

But - you'd get lots of fresh air and think of the screenshots!

Thank you very much Biggles! Always cool to be pointed to sites of interest. And Charts are very good to have around when coming ind for landing.

As for the Camel...    what is the ceiling for that old relic? Could get a bit chilly op there in Nepal, when you hit the ceiling, and have to climb the rest of the way, with the camel on your back.

Remember, you can always change your mind, and join in on the tour.

SquadronLeader,

Amazing stuff I just remembered!

You guys have got to get some of these approches and airfields into your trip.

Our good friends at http://www.simtours.net

have a page here http://www.simtours.net/ddda.php

with Doherty's Difficult and Dangerous Approaches!

And lots of other interesting approaches too!

So this means that you'll have all the fun of flying around the world - with the added element of FEAR!

I missed this one you posted between all of our jabbering.  I'm gonna try a bunch of these in my massive flight plan.  Good site!

Also, dumb question.  How do you single space with this forum?  I would like to single space after some short sentences, but it keeps wanting to double space.   Technically challenged

Cool Beans!

I actually had a bunch of airports selected as destinations that will also be on the list of "interesting" approaches.  Do you suppose Mr. Smith will be a little fidgety with me and want to take over the controls?

Thanks SL!

Joe:

It takes a lot to spook MrSmith, but if you fly those tough approaches with MsAviatrix I am sure she'll give you a piece of her mind!

I absolutely agree that it is a great site. Lots and lots of interesting stuff there. Strange placed airports and all... The list of interesting airports is milelong, and actually contains some of our mandatory airports, not many but some. And as Joe, I certainly plan on visiting a few of them. Would be a shame not to, when in the neighborhood.
