New Product - Twin Otter Extended Detail Pack for FSFlyingSchool PRO 2015 for P3D version 2

If you are a registered owner of FSFS PRO 2015 for P3D version 2 just download the demo and install into the same folder as your existing registered product. This will update your version to 4.1.0.

If you don't own FSFS PRO 2015 for P3D version 2 you can just download and install into a new folder so you can try out the free demo.

The following is a list of different stages of flight in which events will cause your instructor to talk to you,
with specific reference to the Twin Otter you are flying.


Cold and Dark
- [On ground with no engines running and parking brake off]
Advice to set parking brake.
- [Shortly after flight starts on ground with D. C. Master on]
Estimate of current fuel as a percentage of full.
- [Shortly after flight starts on ground with D. C. Master on]
Warning that the pilot must wait until Ng stabilizes above 12% before introducing fuel with the fuel
lever when starting an engine or an engine fire will most likely result..

Starting Engines
- [Engine start attempted]
Warning that the pilot must wait until Ng stabilizes above 12% before introducing fuel with the fuel
lever when starting an engine.
- [Engine start attempted and power levers not correctly set]
Advice that power levers should both be at idle when starting the engines.
- [Engine start attempted and propeller levers not correctly set]
Advice that propeller levers should both be either fully forward or fully aft when starting the engines,
according to the preference set by the pilot at the Aircraft Screen of FSFlyingSchool. This allows the
pilot to choose which of the two different methods are used by the aircraft owners he/she is flying
with on that flight.

Warning that parking brake must be set when starting the engines.

Taxi Out
- [Shortly after moving in taxi mode]
Advice on which instruments and systems should be checked during taxiing.
- [Shortly after moving in taxi mode and too little flaps]
Advice to set flaps to 10 or 20 degrees.

Advice to set flaps to 10 or 20 degrees.

Take Off
- [Shortly after entering takeoff mode]
Instructor reads off speeds for 'Rotate' and 'v2' based on aircraft gross weight and flaps setting.

Reminder to turn on autofeather.

Warning that autopilot must be off during takeoff.
- [On ground with autopilot heading not set]
Warning to set autopilot heading to departure runway heading.
- [On ground with parking brake on and high power set]
Warning that parking brake needs to be off.
- [Shortly after beginning takeoff]
Advice to move power levers smoothly up to take off power.
- [Shortly after beginning takeoff roll]
Advice to listen for 'Rotate' and 'v2'.
- [Shortly after takeoff]
Reminder that vY best rate of climb with 2 engines is 103 KIAS. Use this speed to climb after
takeoff in normal operations.
- [Shortly after takeoff]
Reminder that vX best angle of climb with 2 engines is 89 KIAS. Use this speed to climb steeply
after takeoff to clear obstacles.
- [Taking off and an engine lost]
Reminder that vYSE best rate of climb with 1 engine is 82 KIAS.
- [Shortly after takeoff]
Reminder that if heavy turbulence is encountered the aircraft must be at or below maneuvering
speed and that this will decrease as fuel is used.
- [Flaps up too soon]
Warning if takeoff flaps retracted before 400 feet above airfield.
- [At 400 feet AGL]
Reminder to raise all flaps.
- [At 400 feet AGL]
Advice to turn off autofeather.

Descent and Landing

Advice that weight (depending on aircraft variant) must be reduced for landing.

Reminder that propeller control levers need to be at high RPM (fully forward) for landing.
- [Descent to landing and fuel levers not set]
Reminder that fuel levers need to be fully forward for landing.
- [Descending and decelerating to maximum flap speed while landing]
Advice that once below the first allowable flap speed (depending on aircraft variant) the pilot may
use up to 10 degrees of flaps.
- [Descending and decelerating to next flap speed while landing]
Advice that once below second allowable flap speed (depending on aircraft variant) the pilot may
use up to 40 degrees of flaps.
- [Descent to around 600 feet AGL while landing]
Advice to use pitch to control airspeed and power to control rate of descent during approach and
landing.
- [Descent to around 500 feet AGL while landing]
Advice that you typically want to land with 40 degrees flaps.
- [Descent to around 400 feet AGL while landing]
Reminder to touchdown with around 3 degrees nose up pitch.
- [Descent to around 300 feet AGL while landing]
Reminder that power levers should be idle at touchdown.
- [Descent to around 400 feet AGL while landing]
Reminder to flare at about 10 to 15 feet above the runway and to lift the nose to land on your main
gear first, lower the nose gently and use minimum braking required.

Reminder that at about 10 to 15 feet above the runway you should reduce power to idle and flare.
- [Approaching Decision Height]
Instructor calls "approaching minimums" based on value set on radar altimeter.

Warning that an engine is on fire. Note that this is separate from the aircraft publisher's engine fires, which do
not register as 'engine fires' in P3D's failures system.

Reminder to turn off Propeller anti-ice when total air temperature is above 10 Celsius.

Reminder to turn off wing anti-ice when total air temperature is above 10 Celsius.
- [Wing anti-ice on when taxiing]
Reminder to turn off wing anti-ice.
- [Wing anti-ice off when cold and not taxiing]
Reminder to turn on wing anti-ice when total air temperature is at or below 10 Celsius.
- [Speed approaching maximum]
Warning that you are close to exceeding maximum speed for this aircraft. This varies with altitude
and it is constantly computed for the crew by the Aerosoft aircraft.
- [Fuel level low]
Warning that fuel is below 10 percent and you may wish to consider your refueling options.
- [D. C. Master just switched on]
Estimate of current fuel as a percentage of full.
- [D. C. Master on and fuel level getting low]
Estimate of current fuel as a percentage of full as fuel falls below 50%, 25%, 10%, 5% and 3%.
- [Flaps down and flying too fast for that particular flaps setting]
Advice that once below the first allowable flap speed (depending on aircraft variant) the pilot may
use up to 10 degrees of flaps.
- [Flaps down and flying too fast for that particular flaps setting]
