I have checked this several times and find the following:

When connected the fsx control function for close cowl flaps (Ctrl + Shift + C) does not work. However the function for Open Cowl Flaps (Ctrl + Shift + V) does work. When I disconnect Flying School the close cowl flaps assignment functions correctly. Seems to be some kind of conflict between flying school and this assignment. Any suggestions??

Hi BW:

If this issue occurs you can either assign the operation to a controller's button, such as a button on your joystick, yoke or throttle quadrant, or you can change the key assignment in FSX at the Options... Settings... Controls... Buttons/Keys screen. You can use Options... Settings... Save to save the settings.

Please let me know how you get on.

I had my fsfs installed into my C drive, but my FSX is located on my D drive. While installed on the C drive I could not get an alternate key to work, so I unistalled from C and reinstalled onto D and my alternate does work now. In addition, I found that I was having sound problems with the C installation. However, the D install caused no sound problems. Thanks for your help.

Today the problem of cowl flaps closing when FSFS is connected is continuing. I have cowl flaps closing mapped to Ctrl + Shift + M. The mapping works when fsfs is disconnected, but not when connected.
Can you suggest any other mapping combination. Thanks.

BW

PS: I also tried key combinations:
Ctrl + Shift +O and Ctrl + Shift + P. with the same result

Hi:

Sorry I don't have an FSX key reference at hand at present but I know that I used Ctrl Shift F12 successfully both with FSFS running and with it not running. Could you try that?

I tried combinations F12 , F8, ctrl + shift +R. No luck. Then I thought try Ctrl + C. That combo worked. Hope it continues. Thanks for getting back to me.
