I purchased the A2A Cessna 172 a while ago and tried using FSFS with it. I will ask me to raise landing gear even though the 172 doesn't have retractable gear and it asks me to turn on the alternator even though it is on. Is there a way to configure this plane to use FSFS.

Hi:

Earlier versions of FSFS did not support the A2A c172, but I am happy to tell you that later versions do.

Which version are you using?

I am using FS Pro 2013. Isn't there a way to set up a user defined aircraft?

Hi:

Yes you can add data for aircraft yourself at the aircraft screen of FSFS.

The issue with the excellent A2A c172 is that due to its sophisticated programming it does not behave as for example planes that come with FSX. This means that some values such as the throttle and alternator are not what FSFS would expect to get from FSX when using this plane. As a result, some extra programming by us was required to support the plane.

It is supported by FSFS PRO 2014 for FSX.

I upgraded to FSFS 2014 and it does seem to work with the A2A Cessna 172. There is one glich, Mr. Smith keeps telling me to retract the spoilers and there are no spoilers on the 172.

Hi:

This is very puzzling - I just ran a test here and there was certainly no mention of spoilers and folks have been using the A2A c172 with FSFS all year without this issue.

Can I ask - is there anyone else who has the A2A c172 and would like to take her up with FSFS PRO 2014 v 7.7.1 and report back to us?

Okay the spoiler problem seems to have happened only once and not again. Who knows. Now it seems that my flights are not recorded when I use the Cessna 172 A2A.
