Can anyone explain how to assign the flight modes to pushbuttons? I understand how to do this in FSUIPC I think, but I find it  a bit intimidating! How is it done with the software mapping provided with the controls as mentioned in the manual? I have CH yoke and pedals also Saitek J/S.The problem seems to be enabling the buttons to produce the required keystrokes.Every thing works fine otherwise.I believe    OLE has the answer . Thanks for your help.    P/Prune

FSUIPC will easily allow you to allocate a specific key combination to any button on your joystick, for instance you can allocate the G key, which toggles the landing gear, to a specific button on you joystick.  It won't allow you to modify a keypress with another combination, e.g. you won't be able to allocate Ctrl-Shift-Z to the F1 key.  FSUIPC will also allow you to allocate any keyboard combination to a specific standard action, e.g. you can allocate the F1 key (if its not used for anything else) to the "extend full flaps" function.  The standard functions are predefined and appear in a detailed list when you select this option.  The standard FSFS combintions, ctrl-shift-Z, etc, are predefined by the program design - but maybe Squad Leader or Ole can give you some more information on this.

Stan - thanks for helping Mr Prune.

I claim no expertise here, but as you say I think Ole has done this and commented on it before. Ole - would you like to join in...?
