Hmm, apparently it was a bad idea to leave my email address in this account since it's apparently used to send ads for those products, a more and more common practice, unfortunately. I had to add the generic address to the spam list, so I won't be able to get relevant notifications anymore.
Those ads are even on the FSFS main window, what a pity.

Hi:
We certainly send out mailers to everyone so that folks are kept up to date about our products and especially about promotions, which often offer exceptionally deep discounts and allow folks who might otherwise not be in a position to purchase flight simulation products a good opportunity to so do.
We also like to keep folks up to date on our policies for senior citizens, foreign currencies, flying tips and new products and have conducted many emailed surveys to determine what people want from our product in the future.
This all leads to email of course - and folks can unsubscribe at any time of they prefer.
