Hi -

I think we replied here...

http://www.fsflyingschool.com/forum/FindPost9759.aspx

The issue is that, as we have seen, there is no add-ons menu in FSX on your PC, when in a cockpit, and this has to be there for FSIA to function.

No FSX add-ons menu means that FSX is not seeing FSUIPC, even though FSUIPC reported to you that FSUIPC was installed successfully and even though we can see FSUIPC in the modules folder of FSX.

Unless FSUIPC is functioning in FSX, FSIA can do nothing with FSX.

From what we can see the following is the most likely issue...

Windows security has become so tight that in order for FSIA to function correctly it is necessary that:
- The same user installed FSX and FSIA and FSUIPC.
- That same user is running FSX and FSIA.
- That user is an administrator on that PC.
- It may also be necessary to right click on the shortcut that launches FSIA and choose "Run as Administrator" in order to avoid problems with Windows Security.

Please try this - it very often solves this issue.

Please let me know how you get on.

Well, that didn't work either. I guess I'll just give up and request a refund from FS Pilot Shop. Thanks for your help anyhow.

Wait a minute!
Just as I was giving up, I decided to try one more thing. I installed FS9, applied the update and installed FSUIPC3. FS9 works OK with FSUIPC showing under the modules menu. So FS Instant Approach works with FS9. But of course, it still does not work with my FSX. I think to resolve this matter I would have to uninstall FSUIPC4 and FSX (which I am not about to do because I would loose 200 hours of logged time). So, I will just use FSIA in FS9. I think we can close this case. Thanks again for your help.
