Hi!

If I set the instructor's voice volume to anything other than normal/default, I get fairly cruddy output with loads of crackling etc.

This is FSX, Win7 64 with a Creative SB Audigy. Mr Smith is the current CFI ... but I'll check the others.

Any clues?

The different levels are not all the same quality but they are generally fine on the many systems we test on and very few users have noted issues with this.

Please let us know what you find with the other instructors.

Thanks for the response, SL ... I haven't looked at the sounds directory (away from the games PC at the moment) - are they separate files, or are the same files somehow "reprocessed" in FSFS to achieve different sound levels?

On another note, I'm finding I'm getting a quit/loss of connectivity with an error stating that "it may occur after changing my sound configuration" (or suchlike). I set my sound to my Audigy SB/Hi-def speakers (away from the "default" setting) immediately after 1st install and haven't touched it since. Neither were these errors generated after me experimenting with instructors/volumes.

Mind you - setting sound preferences (for any application) in Win7 can be a bit of a PITA. Vista was worse - it used to just lose the plot altogether. *Way*too complicated and confusing. XP was great LOL!

I'll set my FSFS setting to just "default" device and see what happens

They are just one set of files for each instructor and the different volume levels are achieved by processing. This can cause different effects as you have noted.

Please let us know how you get on.
