I have recently updated from FSFS 2009 to the latest version FSFS 2010 plus the Cessna 172 pack.
I am having a problem with-in the Aircraft page, when I select, FSFlyingSchool Data, a small window appears and says "Can't find the FSR file."
As all the other things I have been using seem great, I would be grateful for some help/advice regarding this.
My OS is Vista Home Premium 32 bit.
Kind regards,
itv5.

Hi itv5
The .fsr files are aircraftfiles that is provided by the FSFS team. You cannot choose .fsr files in the aircraft page. When you select a plane in FSX/2004 FSFS will see if it is in the FSFS hanger so there is a .fsr file for it, and if then you can submit scores from that plane to the web. If NOT, then FSFS will estimate the profile of the plane, so you can fly it, and get evaluated, but you cannot submit scores to the web. This because the values of the plane has not been certified by the FSFS team.
When you have flown a plane not in the FSFS hanger (.fsr file) then you can choose .fsu (U for user file) and change the values for the plane, if FSFS got some hickups from some values. (there are so many planes out there, and so many places all the values for the plane, is written in the plane file, so sometimes (not often) FSFS gets it wrong)
So now you have a .fsu file for the plane, and every time you choose the same plane, FSFS will use your modified .fsu file.
If you are 100% sure your values are correct, you can upload the .fsu file to the FSFS forum and have the FSFS team check it out, encrypt it, and make a .fsr file out of it, so you can upload scores from it, eventually.
Hope this clears things for you.
Regards
Ole Andreasen, Denmark

Help please...
I think I found the reason for many of my pains with FSFS, but I need help...
I load a plane... I do have an FSR file (B1900C) and still FSFS tells me it is calculating the data... Also, If I go to the Aircraft page, all values for flaps, etc are zero, and the instructor tells me the flap speed is too high, etc...
The path for data source points to my FSX folder, but of course, the Aircraft data is in the Aircraft folder inside FSFS...
If I select FSFlying School Data, it says FSR file not found... I do have the FSR file
Help
****ok... I removed the underscores in the B1900C file name and now works... So I guess I need to do that for all underscore in the names?
Best Regards
Sergio Sanchez

| Hi Yes it has to be in the FSFS aircraft folder. In trying to solve this we have to begin by assuming nothing - where did the B1900C file come from?

| Thanks The key is to make sure that the name of the FSR or FSU file is exactly the same as the name of the folder in which the FS aircraft exists on your PC. Sometimes the folder names have spaces, sometimes underscores and sometimes nothing at all (the words are all just 'joined up together'). For FS2004 all the aircraft will be in something like: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft For FSX all the aircraft will be in something like: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes Please let us know if you have any questions or are having trouble with anything.
