Mario (12/15/2009)
Thank you for your interest gentlemen. Ole, nice to meet you for the first time.

I also thought that the cause of the problem may be the lack of prerequisite scores with this 2010 version. I have yet to perform these, and will try soon to report.

If this is the problem, it seems to me a bit strange that FSFS 2010, while letting you carry past logbook records with circuits scores would require you to do get the basic circuit requirements again.... food for thoughts... for upcoming versions.

On a different topic, I would like to acknowledge the following improvement. The latter version of FSFS 2009 and FSFS 2010 are more silent than before, much better! The "use your trimmers" sentence was so repetitive in the older versions that it became really annoying, especially when you flew in cruise mode with very little attitude or vertical speed variations. I am really glad it is more quiet when nothing happens, PC Pilot stated it well: Silence is Gold.

Thanks!

Mario.

I read your message as you havent made the scores appropriate to fly circuits in FSFS2010. Please fly and land to a score that allows you to fly circuits, and upload them with your new name (that you NEED to make for this new version) and see if this thing blows over in a flash.....

Regards
Ole Andreasen, Denmark

Sorry I couldn't reply sooner,
It's quite busy here at Cavalier Aviation, lots of Cessna needing parts, AOG, AOG...

I will make flights with the new version when ready and will report. My monitors are flickering badly these days (probably PSU or video card driver issue) so I sent the computer out to be checked.

I will be taking lessons with our sister company, the Springbank Air Training College at the Springbank Airport just west of Calgary. FS Flying School has been and will be very useful for this training. Thanks!

My best wishes to all the FS Flying School community.

Mario - keep us posted on your results!

Best of luck with your lessons - you be sure and tell those Springbank folks about FSFS!

Have a great Holiday.

Hello Squadron Leader.

Had to re-install Windows 7 due to the monitor flickering problems, c'est la vie...Also re-installed FSFS 2010.

FSFS doesn't respond to any of my keyboard commands... It follows my flying fine and seems OK otherwise. I will try another keyboard from work tomorrow.

I originally bought the 2009 version and upgraded to 2010 + the Cessna pack. I re-installed by downloading the FSFS 2010 demo and added my new 2010 key (I did not go through the 2009 version). FSPUIC is OK.

Please advise

Dear Leader, forget the last post. For some reason (long shutdown period maybe) everything is fine. Systems are A-OK

Ole,

Indeed, the lack of landing scores in new version 2010 was the problem for not being able to enter circuit mode. I just made a 100.00 landing score and circuits are not available. I still think this mishap should be tweaked; if you can carry your logbook and scores you shouldn't have to "make the grades" again.

In my last post I mentioned that the keyboard keys didn't work at all since I re-installed Windows 7 due to monitor problems. Impossible to change flight modes.
I may have found the problem.
I had bought FSFS 2009 and later the 2010 upgrade and the Cessna pack. When I re-installed Windows 7 I directly installed the 2010 without installing the 2009 version. I then had these keyboard issues. Today, I uninstalled FSFS and decided to re-install FSFS 2009 first and then re-install the upgrade. It seems to work fine now.

This problem should be addressed in future versions or be mentioned in the upcoming manuals to help users having re-install issues.

Thanks

Mario:

It's a complete mystery - there is no logical link between installing upgrades and keystrokes working or not.

The keystrokes depend on FSUIPC being installed and the user being in the plane before starting FSFS.

We are so pleased to hear things are working for you though! - All the best!

Hello Squadron Leader,

Indeed, the flight and landing scores had to be re-made in FSFS 2010 in order to access the circuits, even if you achieved them in FSFS 2009. Case closed.

I still have some issues with inop keyboard commands. It eventually works, I don't know if it has to do with the default flight being reset, or rebooting...it is mysterious.
But I do have the following error from time to time:

Error:6 - Overflow
Location: ProcessTCASGround

What is it?

I had the same "will not respond to keyboard commands" for a short time - a day or so IIRC - after I upgraded to FS² MMX.  It went away all on its own; never figured out what had happened.

Mario:

Thanks for the input.

Can you let us know, next time it happens, exactly what was going on when the error occurred? Was FSFS connected to FS? What in general was the pilot doing, what was the last input from the pilot - and anything else which comes to mind.

Thanks!
