Hi All:
I've down loaded FSUIPC4 and have installed it on my system with no errors and went thru the suggested start up procedures but no connect button.
I'm running FSX Deluxe, Vista Home Preminum.
Appreciate the help

Does FSUIPC appear on the Addons menu inside FSX once you get a plane ready to fly? This is essential - FSFS cannot communicate with FS unless FSUIPC is functioning.

When you launch FSFS, what do you see? Is the connect button dimmed? Any other messages?

This is essential - FSFS cannot communicate with FS unless FSUIPC is functioning.

When you launch FSFS, what do you see? Is the connect button dimmed? Any other messages? The button is white and dimmed I guess but it's not highlighted for sure. No error messages?
I have the following additional software
REX, FSDiscover and that's about it
What else can I do. Even through it indicated that the software installed ok I guess I need to look at all of the installations folders? What would be in the FSX.Cfg file? Should there be a folder under FSX?
Appreciate the help as I really want to use the software as a stand-as a stand along 0for awhile

Right - if FSUIPC is not on the Addons Menu, FSFS cannot detect FSX.

This can be caused by a problem with the installation of FSUIPC 4.xxxx into FSX due to the nature of the FSX configuration on the PC being unusual.

This itself is most likely caused by FSX installs, uninstalls, relocations, upgrades, etc.

What 'history' does FSX have on your PC and its hard drive?

What 'history' does FSX have on your PC and its hard drive? [Cool] See above so would you suggest ti uninstall it and reload with just the base FSX install? what about SP@ and acceleration?
Thanks Again

If you are comfortable performing it, you could try uninstalling FSUIPC...
and then uninstalling all of FSX...
and then install just FSX, as you describe, and then install FSUIPC again.

If FSUIPC shows up on the AddOns menu in FSX - you've made progress!

Then try FSFS.

If all goes well you should be able to finally install SPs and Acceleration.

Please let us know how you get on.

As requested I have re-installed with no addons except FS Instructor and still have no menu addon? I did check the FSUIPC4 folder can came up with this?
Installer for FSUIPC4.DLL version 4.40

Looking in registry for FSX install path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0
Parameter"SetupPath"
SetupPath="F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\"
Checking version of FSX.EXE:
... Version 10.0.61355.0 (Need at least 10.0.60905.0)
Checking compatibility with installed SimConnect:
... Okay, Probe Manifest matches installed SimConnect 60905 (Original)
Found later build SimConnect 61242 (SP1 May07)
Found later build SimConnect 61259 (Acc/SP2 Oct07)
Checking if there's already a version of FSUIPC4 installed in:
F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Modules\FSUIPC4.DLL
... Version 4.400 found.
FSX Modules folder already exists.
Failed to place FSUIPC4.DLL into folder as "F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Modules\FSUIPC4.DLL"
Error 32 reported ("The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. ")

Any ideas? I really don't want to ask for my money back because I really like the program......................Help

SL: This looks like FSUIPC was not uninstalled before this installation of FSUIPC was attempted?

FSX Modules folder already exists.
Failed to place FSUIPC4.DLL into folder as "F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Modules\FSUIPC4.DLL"
Error 32 reported ("The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. ")

SL: This looks FSX may have been running at the time the installation was attempted?

Our best bet will be to uninstall FSUIPC before doing anything else and then reinstall it.

Also - when installing FSUIPC, do so without any other applications running - so no FSX and no FSFlyingSchool.

We've had to sort this sort of thing out before so - sorry about all the effort, but we really should be able to get there in the end!
