FSFlyingSchool has always worked with Vista, but we've had a lot of questions on this subject lately, so I thought I'd create this post just to settle the issue.

Just thought I'd mention it...

I am planning to purchase a new computer.  What minimum hardware to you recommend, and will FSFlyingSchool work with Vista 64-bit?

Both versions of FSFlyingSchool (classic and 2009) work with Vista 64bit edition.

As for the minimum hardware to purchase, well make sure you get lots of memory (especially as it's so cheap now).

I have FSFlyingSchool 2009 installed on my VISTA 32 Bit computer. Although I an still very much exploring and learning to get FSFlyingSchool with FSX - I did manage to resolve a problem -- FSFlyingSchool would not generate runway data until I started FSFlyingSchool as ADMINISTRATOR -- then it ran the two external programs just fine and I got my runway data generated.

I did not see this addressed any where on the forum although I may have missed it.

Chuck:

Many thanks for contributing this to the forum - we welcome all contributions of information that can help others.

Vista - it seems - really does need to be used at the Admin level in order to avoid most problems. That was not generally the case with XP...
