My trusty navigator is lost again! Wear the "Foxhat"? Cannot find Dunk Island (YDKI) listed in FS2004!

Any clues, particularly Biggles who has obviously landed there?

TIA

Hi BM,

I think FoxHat needs to be retired. My dear friend Amelia may be available if you would like me to put in a good word?

YDKI bears 324/55nm from YPAM

Presumably because you've asked the question you can't find it by either entering the ICAO or the name Palm Is (just make sure you have got Australia in the Country box.     I'm on FSX so cannot speak for FS2004.

Just in case, for some strange reason, it is not featured within FS2004,

Fly to Ingham YIGM instead.      Brg  290/25 ish from YPAM,     and then onto YIFL

Please let us know the results as it may affect others using FS2004

Nil Deperandum, ?

Guys,

Just Googled Dunk Island Airport - gives lat,lon as S17 56.5 E146 08.40 so it exists in the real world just not it appears in FS2004. FS Navigator (built from the FS2004 BGL files) shows nothing there in terms of an airfield!

Suggestions?

Foxhat and

Biggles,

Ta very much for your interest. Definately not in FS2004, either ICAO or name. I will do as you suggest and fly to YIGM instead.

WARNING

YIGM is a PPR (prior permission required) airfield & the bloke who lives in the caravan at the field can get very stroppy and has been known to take the odd pot shot at pilots landing without permission

Thanks for the warning. I mentioned your name by means of introduction and he was only too keen to let us land. He wishes to talk to you about a personal matter ....?
